About

Master of Education

Our Master of Education program has provided teachers with the opportunities to advance within their schools, boost student achievement, and even move teachers up on the pay scale. We make it possible for our students to juggle their full-time jobs and develop skills that can be taken back to their classrooms immediately!

Program Goals

Our program offers a unique opportunity to earn a master’s degree while also pursuing an area of emphasis.

Students complete 18 credits of core coursework plus an additional 18 credits related to the specific area of emphasis, concluding with a capstone experience. To complete an area of emphasis, students will work with their advisor to determine when they will take their graduate-level endorsement or National Board Certification Preparation courses.

Credits for the area of emphasis vary slightly, but all MEd students will complete 36 to 39 credits.

Program Learning Outcomes

Upon completion of the program, the student will be competent in the following:

  1. Building a culture of learning
  2. Understanding content
  3. Planning and delivering effective instruction
  4. Supporting all learner’s needs
  5. Model professionalism
